WELCOME & BIOEvolution of the Fox Cities Life Study to the launch of the Fox Valley Data ExchangeJason Schulist is the Executive Director of the Fox Valley Data Exchange (www.FVDEX.org), a non-profit that shares publicly available and local data to support health care, public health, and foundations with their community improvement efforts.Prior to leading the Fox Valley Data Exchange, Jason Schulist was the Boldt Company’s Vice President of Operational Excellence.Jason has spent his 30+ year professional career in the construction, automotive, utility, and paper industries. He has shepherded three corporate lean transformations sustainably saving over $1B (year over year hard savings).Jason received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Marquette University and two Masters’ degrees in Electrical Engineering and Management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Lean Six Sigma Blackbelt.
The Fox Valley Data Exchange•was incorporated as a non-profit in May 2023•applied for 501c3 status in September 2023 with anticipated approval Summer 2024•is in the development phase of a 3-year launch process with a website go-live in first half of 2024.FOX VALLEY DATA EXCHANGE GOVERNANCE
WHAT IS THE NEED FOR THE FOX VALLEY DATA EXCHANGE?•It is difficult to find data that we need to solve problems in our community•There is significant duplication ofeffortoGathering, analyzing, and interpreting this data oEstimate of 27 FTEs scrounging for data (healthcare, public health, foundations, non-profits)oOrganizations can reduce consulting fees by creating a local data exchange and redeploy internal resources to more value-added efforts
