Old Business
New Business
1. A request to add a Bus Loading Zone, no stopping, standing, waiting from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00
p.m. school days on Algoma Blvd from 260’ north of Vine Avenue to 440’ north of Vine
Avenue.
There is a cut out in front of Read Elementary School to be used for student drop-off and pick-up.
Since the road reopened, parents have overtaken all the road surrounding the school. This has made
it impossible for Kobussen School Buses to board and alight students safely adjacent to the sidewalk.
The buses are forced to board and alight in the right lane of traffic. I talked to the Principal and she
agreed that a school bus loading zone was needed. The school will also help educate parents and
students and put out orange cones to help delineate the bus loading zone. I also asked OPD for
assistance managing the traffic as they are able.
I recommend approval.
2. Public Hearing on the 2024 Transit Development Plan including recommended route and
fare changes. Draft recommended route and fare changes have been presented and shared
widely with riders and the public. This is the public hearing which is required per GO Transit’s
Public Participation Policy.
3. Committee Recommendation on the 2024 Transit Development Plan – The committee
reviewed the draft recommendations at the February meeting. We are asking for a formal
recommendation for the plan to go to Council for adoption.
I recommend approval.
4. Approve GO Transit’s update to their Title VI Program – Every 3 years GO Transit’s Title
VI program needs to be reviewed, updated and submitted to FTA for approval. The draft document
is included for review.
I recommend approval
