Simons J1rtJ Re: Interest in Plan Commission John Ruppenthal recently asked me to consider serving on the City of Oshkosh Plan Commission. After discussing the matter with him, learning about the activities, decisions to be made, and time commitment, I have decided to apply for the position. I moved to Oshkosh in 1985, after teaching at Marquette University and Boston University for several years. Since then, I have been involved in several community activities, including a few not included on the attached application form. For example, I was a member of the Finance Committee at Evergreen Manor in the late 1980's and a member of Parish Council at St. Raphael's Catholic Church from 1997-2000, including chair for one year. I have also recently joined Oshkosh Rotary Southwest. I am interested in further service to the community and the Plan Commission would be an ideal fit for my interests. The personal characteristics I believe I would bring to the task include: open minded ness, the ability to listen to all sides of an issue and ask good and fair qLiestions, the ability to work as a team member, and the ability to look at the big picture as well as the details, I look forward to this opportunity to serve.
