BILLS It is recommended that the bills, as audited and presented by the Director of Finance, be approved for payment. 2. MISS WISCONSIN PARADE Request permission to grant approval to the Miss Wisconsin Pageant to close small portions of various streets and Main Street, from Lincoln Avenue to Ceape Avenue, on Wednesday, June 23, 2004, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., for the Miss Wisconsin Parade, in accordance with the attached letter of request. 3. USE OF CITY PARKING LOT Request permission to grant approval to Screwballs Sports Bar to utilize the city-owned parking lot on State and Otter Streets, known as the Otter Avenue lot, on Saturday, May 8, 2004, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., for their grand opening, in accordance with the attached letter of request. 4. BLOCK PARTY Request permission to grant approval to the residents of Minnesota Street to close Minnesota Street, from 258 West South Park Avenue to 1217 Minnesota Street, on Saturday, May 15, 2004, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., for a neighborhood block party, in accordance with the attached letter of request. 5. WORLD WALLEYE FISHING TOURNAMENT Request permission to grant approval to the World Walleye Association to utilize Millers Bay, Menominee Park and facilities on Saturday and Sunday, June 5 and 6, 2004, from 5:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., for their fishing tournament, in accordance with the attached letter of request. 6. ALCOHOL & DRUG FREE STREET DANCE Request permission to grant approval to the Kornerstone Recovery Club to close 10th Avenue, from Oregon Street to Nebraska Street, on Saturday, May 22, 2004, from 12:00 noon to 11:00 p.m., for their annual Alcohol and Drug Free Street Dance, in accordance with the attached letter of request. 7. CLOSING OF MARKET STREET Request permission to grant approval to AmeriCorps to close Market Street, from Algoma Boulevard to High Avenue, on Saturday, May 22, 2004, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 23, 2004, to accommodate the Shantytown Oshkosh event, in accordance with the attached letter of request. 8. SIDEWALK SALE Request permission to grant approval to the Greater Downtown Oshkosh Association to close North Main Street, From Algoma Boulevard to Church Avenue, on Wednesday, July 7, 2004, from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., for the 2004 Annual Downtown Sidewalk Sale, in accordance with the attached letter of request. 1019 E. Sincerely, Matt Miller Parade Coordinator April 21, 2004 City Council City Hall Oshkosh, Wisconsin 54901 Dear Council Members: We are planning on having a grand opening for our business on Saturday, May 8, 2004, from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. We are requesting the use of the parking lot behind our business on State and Otter Streets. This is a city-owned lot, with 90 minute parking, which is primarily used for businesses in the area. We are the only business open on Saturday in the area. We would like to utilize the entire parking lot, but will be satisfied with only partial parking if you deem that appropriate. We plan on having a pig roast and we might possibly have some live music. We will follow all city ordinances that apply and would sincerely appreciate the use of this parking lot for our grand opening. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions. Box 1130 Oshkosh, WI 54902-1130 Dear Mr. Wollangk: On behalf of the Greater Downtown Oshkosh Association, I would like to request the closing of North Main Street from Algoma Boulevard to Church Avenue for the 2004 Annual Downtown Sidewalk Sale. This event is scheduled to take place Wednesday, July 7, 2004. The hours of operation will be from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm and we anticipate our set-up and takedown time to be approximately one hour. This is the fifth year of the Sidewalk Sales in the present format as a GDOA Major Event. We feel that having a majority of the retailers locate their table in one central area is beneficial to the businesses and their patrons. We hope to make this an event that will include music, food, and children's entertainment, enthusiastically bringing the community to the roots of downtown Oshkosh.
