PURPOSE:
AMEND DEFINITION OF PARKS TO INCLUDE OPERA HOUSE
SQUARE
INITIATED BY: CITY ADMINSTRATION
A GENERAL ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OSHKOSH AMENDING SECTION 19-2 OF
THE OSHKOSH MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO THE DEFINITION OF PARKS
WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh acquired property located in the 300 block of North
Main Street; and
WHEREAS, such property has been developed as a park in accordance with the
approved Downtown Action Plan; and
WHEREAS, a portion of this property had been previously designated as a park
plaza within the City of Oshkosh municipal code; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to designate the entire property as a park to enforce
park ordinances, rules and regulations within the park area.
NOW, THEREFORE, The Common Council of the City of Oshkosh does ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. That Section 19-2 of the Oshkosh Municipal Code pertaining to the
definition of parks is hereby amended as follows:
To Delete from the category for Plazas: Founder's Plaza
To Add under the category for Special Purpose Parks: Opera House Square
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and publication.
