AUTHORIZE SUBMITTAL OF GRANT APPLICATION; ACCEPT
FUNDS/BROWNFIELD SITE ASSESSMENT GRANT -
35 & 111 JACKSON STREET
DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh recognizes that the remediation and
redevelopment of brownfields is an important part of protecting Wisconsin's resources;
and
WHEREAS, in this action, the City of Oshkosh has declared its intent to complete
the Brownfield Site Assessment Grant (SAG) activities described in the application if
awarded funds; and
WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh will maintain records documenting all
expenditures made during the Brownfield Site Assessment Grant period; and
WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh will allow employees from the Dept. of Natural
Resources access to inspect the grant site or facility and grant records; and
WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh will submit a final report to the Department of
Natural Resources which will accompany the final payment request.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Oshkosh that the City of Oshkosh hereby requests funds and assistance available from
the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources under the Brownfield Site Assessment
Grant program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City hereby authorizes STS Consultants
Ltd. to act on behalf of the City of Oshkosh to submit an application to the Wisconsin
Department of Natural Resources for financial aid for Brownfield Site Assessment Grant
purposes and to take necessary action to undertake, direct and complete approved
grant activities.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that if said grant funds are awarded, the proper
City officials are hereby authorized and directed to accept said funds, pursuant to the
terms of the grant application, and to execute any and all documents necessary for
purposes of same.
