[EXISTING CONDITION: NO CONTROL]. This is a request from a citizen. The warrants for a yield sign are as follows: a) Three or more right angle accidents in a twelve month period. b) 1,500 or more vehicles per day. c) Inadequate sight distance. The accident history for this intersection is shown below: Intersection 1998 1999 2000 Meadow Street and 5th Avenue 0 0 0 The accident history doesn't indicate any problem with this intersection. The traffic volume at this intersection is approximately 1,056 vehicles per day. This level of traffic doesn't meet the warrant for the installation of a yield sign. The required stopping distance for a vehicle traveling 25 mph is 120 feet. The sight distance at this location is approximately 115 feet. There doesn't appear to be any problem with this intersection based upon the accident history. This is a T-type intersection and the sight distance is acceptable for that type of intersection. There is also a major problem with a terrace tree that would block any traffic sign placed on the northwest corner. DEFEATED BY TRAFFIC REVIEW BOARD (0-6).
