Mayor Dell'Antonia presided. PRESENT: Council Members William Castle, Mark L. Harris, Paul J. Esslinger, Stephen Hintz, Jon Dell'Antonia EXCUSED: Council Members Shirley Mattox, Melanie Bloechl ALSO PRESENT: Richard Wollangk, City Manager, Warren Kraft, City Attorney, Pam Ubrig, City Clerk, Penny Wolf, Deputy City Clerk, Matt Tucker, Associate Planner Resolution 01-292 Recreate Voting Wards & Set Polling Places MOTION: ADOPT (Esslinger; second, Castle) MOTION: CARRIED: AMEND TO CHANGE THE WARD BOUNDARIES FOR CITY VOTING DISTRICT 5, WARDS 9 AND 10 TO W. MURDOCK AVENUE; CITY VOTING DISTRICT 17, WARDS 32 AND 33 TO U.S, HIGHWAY 41; AND CITY VOTING DISTRICT 16, WARDS 30 AND 31 TO U.S. HIGHWAY 41 (Hintz; second, Esslinger) Ayes (5)Castle, Harris, Esslinger, Hintz, Dell'Antonia VOTE ON RESOLUTION AS AMENDED: CARRIED: Ayes (5)Castle, Harris, Esslinger, Hintz, Dell'Antonia Ms. Ubrig explained that Council Member Mattox had called with some suggestions regarding the ward boundary lines and explained those suggestions. Mr. Wollangk explained that the county sets the district boundaries, the city responsibilities were to draw the ward boundaries within the districts using state guidelines. He explained that with the growth of the community two new districts were added. Mr. Tucker explained the population requirements.
