HomeMy WebLinkAbout00-448.docOCTOBER 24, 2000 FIRST READING 00-448 ORDINANCE (CARRIED 5-1 LOST LAID OVER WITHDRAWN ) PURPOSE: FLOODPLAIN MAP AMENDMENT/E SIDE OF IOWA STREET, AT 421 OREGON STREET AND 228 W. 6TH AVENUE INITIATED BY: JELD-WEN INC., NKIN MORGAN MANUFACTURING PLAN COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Approved w/condition WHEREAS, an elevation survey prepared by Roehlig Land Surveying & Consulting, a Wisconsin Registered Land Surveyor, for a portion of the property located on the east side of Iowa Street, at 421 Oregon Street and 228 W. 6th Avenue, indicates a portion of said property is mapped as floodplain; and WHEREAS, the property owner certifies that said property will be filled to the elevations set forth in the attached map and that said elevations are at least two (2) ft. above the regional floodplain elevation of 749.2 ft., and that said property is contiguous to land outside the floodplain; and WHEREAS, based on these elevations, the property owner requests that approximately 110,689 sq. ft. of area on said parcel, per the attached map, be removed from the Floodplain Zoning Map; and WHEREAS, a public hearing, after due and proper notice was held before the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh concerning said amendment to the Floodplain Zoning Map for the City of Oshkosh, and the Plan Commission having recommended the adoption of this Ordinance. NOW, THEREFORE, the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh do ordain as follows: SECTION 1. Based on the information submitted by the property owner, it is determined that approximately 110,689 sq. ft. of area, per the attached map, is hereby removed from the Floodplain Zoning Map. OCTOBER 24, 2000 FIRST READING 00-448 ORDINANCE CONT'D SECTION 2. This amendment is contingent upon the property owner filing a certification of fill placement and map with the City of Oshkosh. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in effect upon its passage and publication and upon approval by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
