COMMON COUNCIL MEETING

A. CITY MANAGER'S REPORT
1. BILLS
It is recommended that the bills, as audited and presented by the Director of Finance, be
approved for payment.
2. NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY
Request permission to grant approval to the residents of Woodstock Street to close
Woodstock Street, from 1695 Woodstock to 1775 Woodstock, on Saturday, September
16, 2000, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., for a neighborhood block party, in accordance with
the attached letter of request.
3. USE OF MARKET STREET AND FOUNDER'S PLAZA
Request permission to grant approval to the Christian Book Nook to close Market Street,
from High Avenue to Algoma Boulevard, and to utilize Founder's Plaza for a local band,
on Saturday, October 14, 2000, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for a community block party,
in accordance with the attached letter of request.
4. ALCOHOL & DRUG FREE STREET DANCE
Request permission to grant approval to Serenus, Inc. to close Market Street, from High
Avenue to Algoma Boulevard, on Saturday, September 9, 2000, from 5:30 p.m. to 11:00
p.m., for an Alcohol and Drug Free Street Dance, in accordance with the attached letter of
request.
5. GRAND OPERA HOUSE PICNICS
Request permission to grant approval to the Grand Opera House to close Market Street,
from High Avenue to Algoma Boulevard, on September 1,2000, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00
p.m., on September 14, 2000, from 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., on September 22, 2000, from
2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., on May 5, 2001, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., on May 12, 2001,
from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and on June 2, 2001, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., for
outdoor picnics before Grand Opera House performances, in accordance with the
attached letter of request.
6. CORN/PIG ROAST
Request permission to grant approval to the Jockey Club to close Gruenwald Street, from
the east side of 10 East Gruenwald to the west side of the intersection of Jefferson and
Gruenwald Streets, on Saturday, September 16, 2000, from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., fora
corn and pig roast, in accordance with the attached letter of request.
7. CLOSING OF WOODLAND AVENUE
Request permission to grant approval to Miron Construction Company to close Woodland
Avenue, from High Avenue to Algoma Boulevard, for approximately one year, to
accommodate the construction of a chilled water plant for the University, in accordance
with the attached letter of request.
