HomeMy WebLinkAbout00-172.docAPRIL 25, 2000 00-172 RESOLUTION (CARRIED LOST LAID OVER WITHDRAWN PURPOSE: INITIATED BY: SUBMITTAL OF GRANT APPLICATION TO THE WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES FOR MENOMINEE PARK TRAIL DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT OF PARKS WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has identified the need to develop recreation trails, per the City's Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS, the City Council has supported the continual expansion of the Menominee Park Recreation Trail through the Capital Improvements program; and WHEREAS, the 2000 Capital Improvements program has $28,200 allocated for continuation of trail extension work; and WHEREAS, there is an opportunity to receive a grant for a fifty (50%) percent dollar match to assist with the Menominee Park Trail extension work, through the National Recreation Trails Act Program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to submit an application to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for any financial aid that may be available to assist with the Menominee Park Trail extension, and that if the grant is awarded, the proper City officials are authorized and directed to accept said funds, pursuant to the terms of the grant application.
