BILLS It is recommended that the bills, as audited and presented by the Director of Finance, be approved for payment. 2. 4TH OF JULY PARADE Request permission to grant approval to the 4th of July Parade Committee to utilize city streets, facilities and Menominee Park on Sunday, July 4, 2004, from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., for the 12th Annual 4th of July Parade, in accordance with the attached letter of request. 3. RED CROSS FUN RUN &WALK Request permission to grant approval to the American Red Cross to utilize Menominee Park and facilities on Sunday, May 2, 2004, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., for their 8th Annual Fun Run and Walk, in accordance with the attached letter of request. F:GURTH GE]: SU .Y PARADE GSH GSH,, October 30, 2003 Richard Wollangk, City Manager City of Oshkosh 215 Church Avenue Oshkosh, WI 5~901 Dear Mr. Wollangk, As requested by Mayor Hintz at the October 28, 2003 Council Meeting, I am formally requesting that you go ahead with the usual procedure on the request for the Z~th of July Parade Committee to conduct the parade on Sunday, July ~, 200~. We will use the usual parade route, with the assembly area starting at Main St. and Otter Avenue, utilizing the streets and parking lots to the east. Ceape Avenue will remain open for traffic. Assembly time will be 7:30 - 8:30 AM, as the parade will commence at 9:00 AM. The parade will proceed north on Main St. to Irving Ave., east on Irving to Menominee Park. The parade will once again be about one and a half hours long. I would ask your usual cooperation in notifying the Oshkosh Police Department, the Oshkosh Fire Department, the Oshkosh Auxiliary Police, the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department, and the Oshkosh Street Department. We will work with the Oshkosh Police Department providing them with the necessary information for barricades and the No Parking signs for the parade route during that morning. Also, if any other necessary permits are required or other forms need to be filed, please let me know. The AmeriCan Red Cr6s~ Pians to hold the "Crossing the World Fun Run and Walk" which is designed to raise fimds and promote awareness of Red Cross services. Last year, the event brought many volunteers, community members, organizations, and businesses together to support the vital services the Red Cross provides to Columbia, Green Lake, Marquette, Waushara, and Winnebago counties. The event raised over $11,000 for the local chapter. The Fun Run & Walk, starting about 1:00 p.m., Will consist ora Two-mile walk and a 5K race/run taking place within the park. Enclosed you will find copies of the planned courses for the walk and race. The course will begin and end at the Kiwanis Shelter. If there is any other information needed, please contact me. Our organizatiOn looks forward to receiving permission from your office to proceed with our plans for this event to promote community awareness of the American Red Cross.
