BILLS It is recommended that the bills, as audited and presented by the Director of Finance, be approved for payment. 2. USE OF SOUTH PARK Request permission to grant approval to a local resident to utilize a portion of South Park on Saturday, July 10, 2004, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., for a wedding ceremony, in accordance with the attached letter of request. 3. RACE FOR THE LIGHT Request permission to grant approval to Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services to utilize city streets and facilities on Saturday, December 6, 2003, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., for a 5K Run/Walk entitled "Race for the Light", in accordance with the attached letter of request. October 22, 2003 Mayor & City Council City Hall 215 Church Avenue Oshkosh, Wisconsin 54901 Dear Council Members: I am requesting the use of a portion of South Park on Saturday, July 10, 2004, for my wedding. We will be holding our wedding ceremony by the South Park Bridge between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. that day. The ceremony is expected to take (at the most) one-half hour and we will have a limited amount of guests. We will be bringing our own chairs and a tarp in case of rain. We will do all the set-up and take-down and clean up any mess that may occur. We will not be requiring the use of a shelter. Thank you for your consideration of our limited use of the park that day. Help Is Here 215 Church St Oshkosh, WI 54901 City Manager Richard Wollangk October 21, 2003 Dear Mr. Wollangk: Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services is prOud to announce "Race for the Light" our first annual family fun run in correlation with "Celebration of Lights". As part of this fundraiser, the last mile of this family fun 5k run/~valk will include passing through the 100,000 lights along the path of the Celebration of Lights display at Menominee Park, Oshkosh. The fundraiser will raise money for the Christine Ann Center and help the light of hope shine throughout the year for victims of domestic abuse. The Christine Ann Center along with the Celebration of Lights would like to ask your permission to run along the city streets by Menominee Park for this event. The race is planned for Saturday,.December 5, 2003 at 5:00 p.m. with the estimated time to be off the streets by 7:30 p.m. We look forward t,o 200 participants. I have enclosed a proposed map of the route. We are excited to offer this event. The money raised will help in the fight against domestic violence to make our community a safer place. We will continue taking a right (north) on Linde Street, then a left (west) onto Merrit. We will continue taking a right (north) onto Hazel. The participants will follow this past the old hospital and past Webster School. Then the route takes a right (east) onto New York for a brief time (this will be the turn around by George Washington) turn again right onto Menominee Drive and catch up again with Hazel going south. At the school, the participants will turn left (east) onto Siewert Street into Menominee Park hugging the water front but staying on the black top through the parking lot. They will follow this into the lights and around to Lake Shore Drive until they reach the end of the lights and the park (by Little Oshkosh). The runners will then follow the route back to the Legion heading in ob Linde (south) back to Washington (east) and just a bit onto Lampert Street heading south and into the Legion parking lot.
