AS AMENDED
PURPOSE: INITIAL RESOLUTION – 2003 SEALCOATING PROGRAM –
VARIOUS STREETS
INITIATED BY: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS
BE IT RESOLVED BY the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh as follows:
1. The 2003 Sealcoating Program for the city streets, as shown on the
attached list, is approved.
2. The abutting and benefited properties shall be charged for the cost of such
work as a special charge for current services, per Section 66.0627 of the Wisconsin
Statutes, but not more than seventy - five cents ($.75) per front foot for sealcoating
streets with minimal base repair and widths equal to or less than twenty (20) feet, or not
more than one dollar twe nty - five cents ($1.25) per front foot for sealcoating streets with
minimal base repair and widths equal to or less than thirty (30) feet, or one dollar fifty
cents ($1.50) per front foot for sealcoating streets with minimal base repair and widths
greater t han thirty feet.
3. The proper city officials are authorized and directed to schedule public
hearing(s) before the Common Council concerning this matter and shall publish a notice
of said hearing(s) in the official newspaper at least twenty (20) days prio r to the date of
the hearing(s). At least ten (10) days prior to the hearing, the proper officials shall mail a
copy of such public hearing notice to every interested person whose post office address
is know or can, with reasonable diligence, be ascertaine d. The notice shall state the
date, time and place of the hearing(s) and shall include the maximum charges
established in paragraph 2 above.
