This Party would begin at 11:00 AM and end at 4:00 PM. We would desire to have Bay Street blocked off from Washington Avenue to School Street. We would also like to have Shawano Street blocked offat Bay Street. The purpose of the party is to say thank you to0ur immediate neighbors. Every Sunday we park in front of their homes during our church service, which at times I am sure can be frustrating. It will also give us a chance as a church to get to know them better and to help meet their physical and spiritual needs. Our plans are to have music, food and games for the people who attend the block party. We will not be serving any alcoholic beverages. We as a church will set up the barricades and take them down if necessary. We will also make sure the area is cleaned up following the activity. Please send any necessary documents to: Thank you for your consideration. Randy Hughes 2440 Vinland Street Oshkosh, WI. 54901 (920) 236-9024 Chairman, Board of Elders Grace Bible Church Dear Tom and members of the Council, July 1st, 2003 Rebel Alliance Theatre, a nonprofit commtmity theatre group based in Oshkosh, is kicking off a capital campaign to find a new home. We recently were forced to vacate our former location, the old Time Theatre on Main St. We are working toward purchasing a building, the current Apostolic Gospel Church located on 10th and Nebraska in Oshkosh. To that end, we are planning to do a special fund-raising event - a weekend of Shakespeare in the Park! We are hoping to stage our performances of Taming of the Shrew in South Park, probably somewhat near the large pavilion, which we would need to utilize in case of rain. The performance dates and times are as follows: Saturday, August 23 at 11:00 am and 4 p.m., and Sunday, Aug 24 at 2:00 pm. We would charge admission (probably less than $10.00 ). We would like to achieve a sort of Elizabethan Faire atmosphere, with Elizabethan style items for sale and perhaps music. We would like to sell concessions, but would keep it very simple (probably soda, chips, and candy). We would do our own set up and tear down and seating, and clean up any litter in the area. We would not be doing any cooking and consider this whole enterprise pretty low risk in terms of any injuries, so we would like to ask that the certificate of insurance be waived. We are a nonprofit group and quite poor at the moment! In summary we would like to ask the following: 1 .Permission to use a portion of South park on Sat, Aug 23 and Sunday, Aug 24 for the performance of Taming of the Shrew. 2. Access to the pavilion that weekend in case of rain. 3. That the certificate of insurance be waived due to the cost. 4. Permission to sell simple concessions and merchandise 5. Use of the sign in South Park to promote our play for a some period of time before the weekend of August 23, 24, if that is possible. We do appreciate you considering this matter, and hope that we can work together to make-this a wonderful event for Oshkosh! _Sincerely your,s,
