NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to waive bids and to purchase playground equipment from: GERBER LEISURE PRODUCTS Total for Congress Avenue Park Total for 44th Parallel Park $36,208.00 $44,562.00 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same. Following is a proposal for new Landscape Structures playground equipment for your playground site. I have made the changes to the or'~jinal proposal according to the neighborhood committee's requests. The benches and the small playstructure are existing or have already been purchased. System materials The playground was designed using Landscape Structures Playbooster System. It uses 5' O.D. diameter aluminum posts, with solid one piece punched steel, PVC coated decks, stainless steel tamperproof hardware, PVC coated handbars, rings, handhold, etc. and high density permalene activity panels. I have enclosed a listing the features of the P[ayBooster system. I have also enclosed "Don't Cut Comers on Kids", a comparison of playground features and components. C.P.S.C and AS'TM .quidelines All Landscape Structures equipment complies with the current ASTM guidelines and CPSC guidelines for safety. All of the playground equipment in the 2002 catalog also has been IPEMA certified as meeting these guidelines. For further information regarding IPEMA certification of components, see IPEMA's website at www. lPEMA.com. Landscape Structures has always prided themselves in producing the highest quality, durable, safe and mest fun equipment on the market. We recommend that you go out and test it for yourselves. Maintenance We include a complete maintenance kit with every structure that is purchased. It includes a manual/checklist listing the recommended frequency of checking connections, and instructions for each component on the structure. It also includes gral~[[~ remover, rubber patch, touch up paint, and extra tamperproof wrenches. The kit is designed for your particular structure. Colors They are totally your choice and are shown on the pages 10 & 11 of the 2003 catalog. Warranty A copy of Landscape Structures full warranty is included in this proposal. All aluminum pests, caps, clamps and beams are warranted for 100 years. All steel climbers, decks, and plastic components are warranted for 15 years. No other manufacturer's warranty comes close. We also provide the marking of the footing hole locations and supervision on the day of installation at no additional charge to you. Surfacin,q Resilient surfacing is required under and around all playground equipment. We recommend 10-12' of loose fill material. In order to make it accessible you would need to use accessible surfacing. We have a wood fiber matedal available at $13.00 / cubic yd. with a 70 cubic yard minimum.
