TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT
A GENERAL ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OSHKOSH AMENDING SECTIONS 27-7 (A-
10) AND 27-23 (A-11) OF THE OSHKOSH MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO YIELD
SIGNS AND PARKING REGULATIONS ON DESIGNATED STREETS AND ALLEYS.
The Common Council of the City of Oshkosh do ordain as follows:
SECTION 1. That Section 27-7(A-10) of the Oshkosh Municipal Code pertaining
to yield signs is hereby amended as follows:
A-10 YIELD RIGHT OF WAY INTERSECTIONS
Delete Therefrom:
Custer Avenue yields to Evans Street, Grand Street,
Jefferson Street, Monroe Street, Oak Street and
Powers Street.
Jefferson Street yields to East Smith Avenue and
Libbey Avenue.
Add Thereto:
Custer Avenue yields to Evans Street, Grand Street,
Monroe Street, Oak Street and Powers Street.
Jefferson Street yields to Libbey Avenue, Smith
Avenue and Custer Avenue.
SECTION 2. That Section 27-23 (A-11) of the Oshkosh Municipal Code
pertaining to parking regulations on designated streets and alleys is hereby amended
as follows:
A-11 PARKING REGULATIONS ON DESIGNATED STREETS AND ALLEYS
DOTY STREET
Add Thereto:
No parking, west side, from Brockway Avenue to 40
feet north of Brockway Avenue.

Delete Therefrom: 2-hour parking between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., both
sides, from Minnesota Street to Iowa Street.
2-hour parking, Monday through Friday, both sides,
from Minnesota Street to Oregon Street.
Add Thereto:
2-hour parking, both sides, from Oregon Street to 297
feet west of Oregon Street, Monday through Friday.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage, publication, and placement of the appropriate signage.

Item Defeated by the Traffic Review Board at their December 12, 2002 Meeting
REQUEST TO REVERSE THE STOP SIGNS ON NEVADA AVENUE AND JEFFERSON
STREET. [EXISTING CONDITION: JEFFERSON STREET STOPS FOR NEVADA
AVENUEI.
This is a request from a citizen.
The warrants for a stop sign are as follows:
1) Three or more right angle accidents in a twelve-month period.
2) 3,000 or more vehicles per day entering the intersection.
3) A severe sight distance problem.
There have not been any accidents at this location in the last three years.
The City of Oshkosh conducted traffic counts in November 2002. The results are shown
below:

The traffic counts clearly show that Nevada Avenue should be the through street
at this location.
