APPLICATIONS STILL ACCEPTED: The City of Oshkosh is seeking five to seven individuals from diverse backgrounds to serve on an Ad Hoc Committee to provide input for the final appearance of the reconstructed clearwells structures and landscaping at the Water Filtration Plant (WFP) located at 425 Lake Shore Drive. This Ad Hoc Committee will be briefed by City staff and Jacobs Engineering on the issues and regulatory requirements related to the proposed work. Appointments to the committee are expected to be complete on March 14, 2023. Interested individuals should submit applications on the City’s website at: https://www.ci.oshkosh.wi.us/BoardsAndCommissions/, by March 8, 2023. 2. FUTURE HAPPENINGS:  Breakfast with The Bunny: Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 8 when we have our annual Breakfast with the Bunny event and Bunny in the Barn egg hunt. In 2023, the event will be brought to you by the City of Oshkosh Parks Department and Winnebago County Parks. Both events will be held at Sunnyview Expo Center, 500 E County Rd Y due to anticipated reconstruction of Pratt Trail in Menominee Park. Check out the attached flyer for more details.  St. Patty’s Day activities: On Saturday, March 18th check out St. Patty’s Day Bingo at the Oshkosh Seniors Center North building from 1-3pm. This is a great inter- generational event that everyone loves! Come down to try your luck at winning some great prizes.  Shamrock Shuffle: Saturday, March 11, UW Oshkosh will once again be hosting the annual Shamrock Shuffle. This year’s route will look a little different in an effort to keep the route closer to the main campus. Be sure to check out the registration and route information at https://uwosh.edu/recreation/shamrock-shuffle/.  Oshkosh Half Marathon: Be advised, the location of the Oshkosh Half Marathon will be new this year! On Saturday, April 29, the participants will start in the parking lot behind the 4Imprint building on Commerce St. and end on the Riverwalk trail just west of the Ground Round. Not ready for these long distance events? Participants can choose to do a 5K instead of the full half marathon that day or they may choose to gear up for the NAMI 5K for Mental Health and Suicide Awareness walk occurring the following weekend (May 6), beginning at Oshkosh North High School. GET INVOLVED: If you are interested in serving your community, please consider becoming a member of a Board, Commission or Committee. LOOKING AHEAD: Among the meetings I have scheduled for the week of March 6, include the following: At 9:00 AM on Monday I am meeting with Community Development Director Nieforth to get an update on development projects. On Tuesday at 9:15 AM I will be meeting with public health advocates regarding various initiatives in the community. At 1:30 PM I will be meeting with Oshkosh Media staff to do a run through of the State Of The City presentation. At 1:00 PM on Wednesday I will be attending a virtual LWMMI meeting. At 7:30 AM on Thursday I will be attending the GOEDC Executive Committee meeting. On Friday at 12:00 PM I will be participating in a virtual ICMA Coaching activity.
