1. Welcome new board member
2. Request to update the parking regulations around Jefferson Elementary School.
The request is to create a loading zone on Minnesota Street east side from W. 11th
Street to W. 10th Street and to update W. 11th Street to create a small bus loading zone
and parking on the north side. There would be a bus loading zone on the north side of
W. 11th Street from Minnesota Street to 132 feet east of Minnesota on school days from
7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and then parking allowed outside that time period.
Current condition:
Minnesota Street: Bus loading zone, east side, from 11th Avenue to 168 feet
north of 11th Avenue between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. on school days.
W. 11th Avenue: 1) No parking, stopping, standing, waiting, north side from
Minnesota Street to 140 feet east of Minnesota Street between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30
p.m. on school days. 2) Loading zone, north side, from 140 feet east of
Minnesota Street to 270 feet east of Minnesota Street, between 7:30 a.m. and
4:30 p.m. on school days.
I have worked with the principal and school resource officer on the traffic flow around
the school. The school no longer has a need for a large bus loading zone and needs
more space for parents dropping off and picking up their kids. This is what we all
agreed would work best and it was tested out last month. The test went well and the
school would like to see these changes made permanent.
I recommend approval

3. A request for angled parking on Bauman Street
Current Condition: No angled parking only unmarked street parking.
This is a request from the Engineering Division.
Bauman Street is being reconstructed. There is a small marina on the street that
needs/utilizes on-street parking. There is sufficient right of way to add angled on-
street parking in this area and the marina is willing to pay for the cost. The angled
parking will allow residents and citizens to travel safely through the area and will
reduced congestion.
4. A request for no right turn on a red light from 6th Avenue onto Ohio Street.
Current Condition:
Allowed.
This is a request from the Transit Division.
It is very hard for vehicles to see oncoming traffic due to the proximity of the buildings
to the corners at this intersection. Transit drivers have reported quite a few close calls.
I recommend approval.
