1. Apply for the Energy Innovation Grant from the Public Service Commission to create a
comprehensive energy study/plan for the City of Oshkosh
a. Need to gather WPS data for all Municipal buildings/meters
2. Sustainability education program for new and existing City of Oshkosh employees
a. Staff should have base line knowledge on what it means to be sustainable and how good
practices of it can permeate into public government policies and decisions for the good of
the community
3. Utilize MIT presentation to increase energy efficiencies of Oshkosh homes
a. Community education on why insulation, windows, solar panels, heat pumps,
electrification can help reduce energy costs long term while also helping the planet
4. Create Green Tier Legacy annual report
a. Assist SAB staff liaison with report where possible
5. Create “regular” interdepartmental meetings (green team) with SAB staff liaison to create an
Annual Sustainability Impact Report
a. SAB would like to see what progress the city makes on an annual basis
6. Create partnerships with local businesses and organizations to increase recycle bin access to
citizens in the downtown area
a. SAB would like to see more recycling opportunities within the city, this could be done in
the parks, or downtown area, at farmers market, etc.
7. Create and educate citizens on “climate change preparedness”
a. This be included in the emergency response ordinance? Information on floods,
temperature changes, soil erosion, food scarcity
