HomeMy WebLinkAbout23. 22-528DECEMBER 13, 2022 22-528 RESOLUTION (CARRIED________LOST________LAID OVER________WITHDRAWN________) PURPOSE: APPROVE AMENDMENT TO FIRE DEPARTMENT 2022 OPERATING BUDGET TO INCREASE EXPENDITURES FOR FIRE SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ($5,087.95) INITIATED BY: FIRE DEPARTMENT WHEREAS, the Common Council has adopted the 2022 Operations Budget, which is on file in the Office of the City Clerk and available for public inspection; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the 2022 Budget to allow for an increase in expenditures by $5,087.95: o Account to allow for an increase of expenditures of $4,587.95 for account, 0235-0230-20552-6550 Minor Equipment and $500.00 for account, 0235- 0230-20557-6529 Non-Inventory Supplies to purchase equipment and supplies for the hazardous materials team. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the 2022 Operations Budget, on file in the City Clerk's Office, is hereby amended to increase expenditures as follows: o increase expenditures in the amount of $4,587.95 for account, 0235-0230- 20552-6550 Minor Equipment and $500.00 for account, 0235-0230-20557- 6529 Non-Inventory Supplies to purchase equipment and supplies for the hazardous materials team. TO: Honorable Mayor & Members of the Common Council FROM: Mike Stanley, Fire Chief DATE: November 21, 2022 RE: Approve Amendment To Fire Department 2022 Operating Budget To Increase Expenditures for Fire Special Revenue Fund ($5,087.95) BACKGROUND The Oshkosh Fire Department has realized an increased expense for supplies and equipment. Additionally, new technologies and needs have emerged that were not originally budgeted for in 2022. ANALYSIS The Oshkosh Fire Department has identified the need to amend the 2022 Fire Special Revenue Fund expenditures by $5,087.95 to purchase equipment and supplies for the hazardous materials team to be better prepared and equipped for responses to hazardous material releases and spills. FISCAL IMPACT This revenue was not originally budgeted for in 2022. A Budget Amendment is necessary to allow for an increase of expenditures. This amendment will allow for an increase of expenditures of $4,587.95 for account, 0235-0230-20552-6550 Minor Equipment, and $500.00 for account, 0235-0230-20557-6529 Non-Inventory Supplies. The $5,087.95 will be transferred from available fund balance. RECOMMENDATION The recommendation would be that Common Council approve this amendment to approve the expenditures.
