RE: Approve Amendment To Fire Department 2022 Operating Budget To Increase
Expenditures for Fire Special Revenue Fund ($5,087.95)
BACKGROUND
The Oshkosh Fire Department has realized an increased expense for supplies and equipment.
Additionally, new technologies and needs have emerged that were not originally budgeted for
in 2022.
ANALYSIS
The Oshkosh Fire Department has identified the need to amend the 2022 Fire Special Revenue
Fund expenditures by $5,087.95 to purchase equipment and supplies for the hazardous
materials team to be better prepared and equipped for responses to hazardous material releases
and spills.
FISCAL IMPACT
This revenue was not originally budgeted for in 2022. A Budget Amendment is necessary to
allow for an increase of expenditures. This amendment will allow for an increase of
expenditures of $4,587.95 for account, 0235-0230-20552-6550 Minor Equipment, and $500.00 for
account, 0235-0230-20557-6529 Non-Inventory Supplies. The $5,087.95 will be transferred from
available fund balance.
RECOMMENDATION
The recommendation would be that Common Council approve this amendment to approve the
expenditures. These purchases will be of direct benefit to the department, the City of Oshkosh,
and those we serve.
Respectfully Submitted, Approved:
