HomeMy WebLinkAbout19. 22-497NOVEMBER 22, 2022 22-497 RESOLUTION (CARRIED 6-0 LOST LAID OVER WITHDRAWN ) PURPOSE: APPROVE COOPERATIVE PURCHASE OF 2023 COMPUTERS FROM VANGUARD COMPUTERS INC. FOR INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION ($79,703.00) INITIATED BY: PURCHASING DIVISION WHEREAS, Common Council allocated funds in the 2023 operating budget to purchase computers for various divisions through the IT Division’s annual lifecycle rotation program; and WHEREAS, by participating through the State of Wisconsin Sourcewell Cooperative Purchase program, staff was able to obtain a more competitive price for computers; and WHEREAS, section 12-15 of the City of Oshkosh Municipal Code provides that purchases may be done without the use of formal sealed quotations or bids pursuant to a contract with any other local, state or federal governmental unit or agency; and WHEREAS, Vanguard Computers Inc. holds the Sourcewell cooperative contract (#505ENT-M17-WICOMPUTER-05) for our 2023 computer order. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed pursuant to Section 12-15 of the Oshkosh Municipal Code to purchase the above mentioned computer order: VanGuard Computers Inc., 13100 W. Lisbon Road, Suite 100 Brookfield, WI 53005 Total: $79,703.00 NOVEMBER 22, 2022 22-497 RESOLUTION CONT’D BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same. Urben, General Services Manager DATE: November 11, 2022 RE: Approve Cooperative Purchase of 2023 Computers from Vanguard Computers Inc. for Information Technology Division ($79,703.00) BACKGROUND This memo summarizes the 2023 computer order of our IT Division’s annual lifecycle rotation program. The various divisions’ 2023 operating budget have funds allocated for this program. ANALYSIS The IT and Purchasing Division concluded the State of Wisconsin Contract with Vanguard Computers Inc. (#505ENT-M17-WICOMPUTER-05) offered the lowest price for our 2023 computer order of 50 HP 600 G9 ProDesk desktops, 17 HP EliteBook 850 G8, 2 HP Z4 workstations, 3 HP Elite Mini 600 G9 and 11 HP 22” LCD G4. FISCAL IMPACT This 2023 computer order will have a total fiscal impact of $79,703.00. Funding for these computers would be charged to various division operating budgets under expense object 6550. In accordance with Section 12-15 of the Municipal Code and with approval by the City Manager, Purchasing recommends the Common Council approve this purchase pursuant to the State of Wisconsin Cooperative Purchase for computers to VanGuard Computers Inc., 13100 W.
