Business Improvement DistrictBID= Properties within the BID receive a special assessment each year to make up annual budget There are 115 assessable properties within the BID and a 12 person board representing downtown property owners 2021 assessment amount: $140,610 2021 operating budget: $183,660 Operating Plan Full time BID manager represents the downtown throughout the community and manages tasks designated by the BID Board and BID members Operating Plan line items: Management, Beautification, Recruitment & Retention, Events, Advertising, Gift Card Program, MemberCO Committee, Parking, Storage Key Partners Oshkosh Convention & Visitor's Bureau BID office is located within the OCVB OCVB employs BID Manager Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce A long time partner BID continues to work and collaborate with the Chamber on a variety of recruitment & retention projects Greater Oshkosh Economic Development Corporation Oshkosh Area Community Foundation City of Oshkosh The BID pays for planting and watering of 100+ flower pots and 20+ bump outs each spring and fills all pots with holiday boughs during the holiday season Flowers The BID designs seasonal banners and is responsible for five banner changes throughout the year Banners In 2020 the BID fundraised over $20,000 for new lights in the square and decor for the tree. We will be doing additional fundraising to enhance the decor in 2021 Holiday The BID budgets annually for general green space maintenance and garbage cleanup throughout downtown Maintenance Beautification Actively communicate with BID members and keep them informed of opportunities that help keep businesses' doors open Work closely with community partners such as the Chamber and GOEDC Offer retention and recruitment grants for new and existing businesses Recruitment & Retention Marketing & Events The BID's mission is to make Downtown Oshkosh a destination for the community and visitors. The BID advertises and plans events to help drive traffic to the downtown area. Advertising: Social media, Oshkosh Herald, City bus ads, posters, postcards, etc. The BID runs multiple events throughout the year including: Fall & Spring Wine Walks, the annual Holiday Parade, Jazz in the Square, Chalk Walk and more! The BID also financially supports and partners with event organizations such as the Oshkosh Farmers Market and Waterfest to ensure long term viability!
