PURPOSE: REMOVE 15-MINUTE PARKING ON WEST SIDE OF OREGON
STREET, FROM 91 FEET NORTH OF 16TH AVENUE TO 19 FEET
NORTH OF 16TH AVENUE BETWEEN 5:00 A.M. AND 6:00 P.M.
INITIATED BY: TRAFFIC AND PARKING ADVISORY BOARD
A GENERAL ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OSHKOSH AMENDING SECTION 27A-11
PARKING REGULATIONS ON DESIGNATED STREETS AND ALLEYS
WHEREAS, the Traffic and Parking Advisory Boards recommends approval to
remove 15 minute parking on Oregon Street.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh do ordain as
follows:
SECTION 1. That Sections 27A-11 pertaining to parking regulations on designated
streets and alleys of the Oshkosh Municipal Code are hereby amended as follows:
A-11 PARKING REGULATIONS ON DESIGNATED STREETS AND ALLEYS
Delete Therefrom: 15-minute parking, west side, from 91 feet north of 16th
Avenue to 19 feet north of 16th Avenue between 5:00
a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage, publication and placement of the appropriate signage.
SECTION 3. Publication Notice. Please take notice that the City of Oshkosh enacted
ordinance #22-XXX on November 8, 2022, REMOVE 15-MINUTE PARKING ON WEST
SIDE OF OREGON STREET, FROM 91 FEET NORTH OF 16TH AVENUE TO 19 FEET
NORTH OF 16TH AVENUE BETWEEN 5:00 A.M. AND 6:00 P.M. (A GENERAL
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OSHKOSH AMENDING SECTION 27A-11 PARKING

section of 15 minute parking on the west side of Oregon Avenue, 91 feet north of the
intersection with 16th Avenue.

RE: Remove 15-minute parking, on west side of Oregon Street, from 91 feet north of
16th Avenue to 19 feet north of 16th Avenue between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
BACKGROUND
Tamara the Cake Guru utilized the building in this area at 1529 Oregon Avenue as their main
facility and retail store prior to 2020. The 15 minute parking allowed their customers’ quick,
convenient parking. Since that time, Tamara has moved her retail operation to a different
storefront on the West side of the city. Therefore; the 15 minute parking is no longer needed. I
have confirmed this with her. Citizens would like to utilize this parking area to patronize
businesses in the area for longer than 15 minutes.
ANALYSIS
There is no longer a need for 15 minute parking in this location.
The traffic and parking advisory board recommends approval (5-0).
FISCAL IMPACT
The cost of these changes is updated signage which will be covered by the Sign Division
operating budget.
RECOMMENDATION
I recommend approval.
