CITY OF OSHKOSH LANDMARKS COMMISSION Minutes September 14th 2022 PRESENT: Shirley Brabender Mattox, Paulette Feld, Kristopher Ulrich, Andrew Smith, Gerald Jacklin, Nikki Stoll Olthoff, Sara Stichert ABSENT: Bill Miller, Steve Cummings STAFF: Alexa Naudziunas, Associate Planner 1) Call to Order Ms. Brabender Mattox called the meeting to order at 3:02 pm. 2) Approval of August 10th 2022 Meeting Minutes Ms. Feld made a motion to approve the August 10th 2022 minutes and Mr. Ulrich seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. 3) Public Comment There were no public comments. 4) Pending Permits a. 411 N Main Street – Window Permit Ms. Brabender Mattox explained that the she spoke with the owners and they are planning to use wood windows that will be historically sensitive. 5) Historic Plaque Application a. 1641 Jackson Street – The commission agreed that this application needs more research. b. 427 W Irving Avenue - The owner was invited to the meeting, but was unable to attend. c. 1149 Algoma Blvd – The commission reviewed the application materials. Ms. Stoll Olthoff made a motion to approve the applications and Ms. Stichert seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. 6) Commissioner Statements a. Oshkosh Herald Article This item is ongoing. b. Ms. Feld explained that there is a group who is creating a historic walking tour for downtown North Main Street area. She asked them if they were interested in creating one for the brewery area on South Main Street. Mr. McCarthy from the Oshkosh Public Library will be invited to the October meeting. c. Ms. Naudziunas explained that the next meeting will be one week later on October 19th, 2022. If you are unable to attend this meeting, notify staff (920-236-5059). 7) Building Permit Review The commissioners discussed the historic building permits. 8) Agenda Items for Next Meeting a. Oshkosh Herald Article b. Cooper D. Wells Bridge - Local Landmarking Discussion c. Fish District 9) Adjournment Mr. Ulrich made a motion to adjourn and Mr. Ulrich seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously at 4: 26 pm.
