HomeMy WebLinkAbout09. 22-341AUGUST 10, 2022 22-341 RESOLUTION (CARRIED___6-0_____LOST________LAID OVER________WITHDRAWN________) PURPOSE: APPROVE PURCHASE OF 2022 PALO ALTO MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT FROM HEARTLAND BUSINESS SYSTEMS FOR IT DIVISION ($32,217.36) INITIATED BY: PURCHASING DIVISION WHEREAS, the IT Division recommends renewing the Palo Alto annual software agreement and hardware maintenance for the City network firewall; and WHEREAS, Heartland Business Systems is the only source of record for the Palo Alto annual software agreement and hardware maintenance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed pursuant to Section 12-11 of the Oshkosh Municipal Code to purchase the Palo Alto annual software agreement and hardware maintenance from: HEARTLAND BUSINESS SYSTEMS 1700 Stephen St. Little Chute, WI 54140 Total: $32,217.36 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same. Urben, General Services Manager DATE: August 2, 2022 RE: Approve Purchase of 2022 Palo Alto maintenance agreement from Heartland Business Systems for IT Division ($32,217.36) BACKGROUND The City utilizes Palo Alto for its network firewall. Heartland Business Systems is the reseller/vendor of record for this maintenance agreement. ANALYSIS The 2022 Palo Alto annual software agreement and hardware maintenance is $32,217.36. The City Manager has approved this service agreement renewal. FISCAL IMPACT The annual total fiscal impact of this agreement for 2022 is $32,217.36. Funds for the 2022 agreement ($32,217.36) is allocated annually in the Subscriptions - Licenses Support account (6415) and preventative maintenance contracts (6416) of various 2022 Operating Budgets. RECOMMENDATION Section 12-11 of the Municipal Code provides that subject to approval of the City Manager, purchases may be made without following a formal competitive bidding process when the purchase is from only one source of supply or when standardization or compatibility is the overriding consideration. In accordance with Section 12-11 of the Municipal Code and with approval by the City Manager, Purchasing recommends the Common Council approve the 2022 agreement for $32,217.36 with Heartland Business Systems, 1700 Stephen St, Little Chute, WI 54140.
