1. A request for a stop sign at the intersection of Arizona Street and W. 18th Avenue.
Arizona Street would stop for W. 18th. (This is a Citizen Request via See-Click-Fix).
There have been 2 crashes at this intersection in the last 5 years. Both crashes involved vehicles
not obeying the yield sign. There are not any major visual obstructions to the yield sign other than
some terrace trees that might need trimming. Traffic volume is light.
Designating this intersection a 2-way stop instead of a yield could potentially have a safety benefit
however; the crash history and traffic volume do not warrant one. I will ask the forestry
department to trim back the terrace trees and continue to monitor the crash history of this
intersection and bring this forward in the future if warranted.
I recommend denial at this time.
2. A request for a lane reconfiguration (road diet) on South Main Street between South
Park Avenue and Waukau Avenue (current condition: 4 lane road).
This item is a follow-up to the joint workshop with the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory
Board that was held on Thursday, July 21st. After many resident requests, the city
TPAB AGENDA ITEMS 2 July 29, 2022
engaged a consulting firm to study this corridor. KL Engineering performed a safety and
operational analysis of the corridor. They recommend a road diet to improve safety,
operations and bike and pedestrian safety in the corridor. Their presentation is attached.
I recommend approval.
