Urben, General Services Manager DATE: July 19, 2022 RE: Approve Change Order No. 1 for Downtown Transit Center Facility Improvements ($61,202) BACKGROUND The bid to expand and rehabilitate the Downtown Transit Center was originally awarded to Cardinal Construction Company for $1,130,376 in November of 2021. ANALYSIS With the work that is planned at the Downtown Transit Center, Municipal Code requirements for Stormwater are required. The Best Management Practice (BMP’s) that were selected to ensure that the site is in compliance were inlets with sumps and a bio swale. The cost for this change to add the necessary inlets and bio swale, including the material and labor is $61,202. FISCAL IMPACT The original bid for this project was $1,130,376. With this change order of $61,202 the contract will change to $1,191,578. The 2021 CIP allocated $1,800,000 for this project. There are adequate funds available for this change order. This change order will be charged to A/N# 05111728 7214 11109 (Buildings- Cares Transit Building Improvements). RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends approval of this change order in the amount of $61,202 to Cardinal Construction Company.
