RE: Recognition of Green Acres Neighborhood Association
BACKGROUND
The subject neighborhood association held a general membership meeting on Wednesday, July
6, 2022. Approximately 30 attendees voted on neighborhood boundaries, a neighborhood name,
and adopted organizational by-laws in accordance with the City’s neighborhood recognition
policy. The Green Acres Neighborhood Association is located on the edge of City boundaries
(see attached boundaries map). This recognition only includes properties within City of
Oshkosh. However, the neighborhood expressed interest in potentially expanding to include
areas that will be attached into the City in 2023 once available.
ANALYSIS
Upon the creation of the Green Acres Neighborhood Association, the number of recognized
neighborhood associations in Oshkosh will be 22. City recognition will allow the Green Acres
Neighborhood Association to access funding through the Community Building and
Engagement program administered by Greater Oshkosh Healthy Neighborhoods to support
neighborhood events, projects, and activities. In addition, they will be eligible to apply for the
City’s Great Neighborhoods program funding to support capital improvements in their
neighborhood. Property owners will also be eligible to apply for financial housing incentive
programs available to City of Oshkosh recognized neighborhood associations.
Please contact me if you have any questions concerning the Green Acres Neighborhood
Association.
Respectfully Submitted,
Mark A. Rohloff
