RE: Cooperative Purchase of Compact Tractor for GO Transit ($26,685.21)
BACKGROUND
The 2022 CIP Major Equipment budget allocated funds to purchase a compact tractor for GO
Transit. This unit will be used for snow/ice control at bus stops and for lawn maintenance at the
GO Transit facility. This unit will include a John Deere 1025R sub-compact utility tractor, 54”
mower deck and box blade. This memo is to report the purchase of this unit pursuant to the
cooperative purchase exception of our purchasing ordinance.
ANALYSIS
Purchasing has verified that Riesterer & Schnell Inc. participates with the national Sourcewell
cooperative contract (Grounds Maintenance 031121-DAC) for John Deere equipment. Using this
cooperative contract will save $2,572.38 from list price.
FISCAL IMPACT
The 2022 CIP allocated funds for this purchase via Federal CARES Act funding. The total fiscal
impact of this unit from Sourcewell’s cooperative contract is $26,685.21. This purchase will be
charged to A/N#: 0511 1728 7204 11107 (Machinery & Equipment- Compact Tractor).
