1. Board Vacancies
2. 2023 Budget Request – Winnebago County helps fund our paratransit programs.
They are under a 0% operating expense increase directive for 2023. We submitted
a funding request at 2022 budget levels for the Dial-A-Ride, ADA wheelchair, and
Rural programs. Even though the cost per ride increased substantially in 2022,
ridership remains below 2019 levels so we should be ok. Route 10 continues to
experience extremely low ridership and increasing costs. We put this service out
for bid in 2021 for a 2022 start date. Our current vendor, Kobussen was the only
interested vendor. There are cost escalators in the Route 10 contract for 2023
including a CPI and fuel increase. The county isn’t interested in increasing
funding to support Route 10. We are working with the County to look at
alternatives. We plan to hire a consultant to help research and present
alternatives to Route 10.
