RE: Approve Cooperative Purchase of Two Backhoe/Loaders from Brooks Tractor for
Streets Division and Water Distribution Division ($297,295.29)
BACKGROUND
The Common Council allocated $330,000 in the 2022 CIP to purchase a backhoe/loader unit for
both the Street Division and the Water Distribution Division. The Streets Division unit is a
2004 John Deere backhoe with 3,005 hours and ongoing mechanical issues with its outriggers
and hydraulic system. The Water Distribution unit is a 2008 John Deere 4WD backhoe with
8,602 hours and recent hydraulic and torque hub leaks. The two new units will include the
backhoe/loader, dipper stick coupler and bucket(s).
