CITY OF OSHKOSH LANDMARKS COMMISSION Minutes March 9th, 2022 PRESENT: Shirley Brabender Mattox, Steve Cummings, Gerald Jacklin, Paulette Feld, Sara Stichert, Kristopher Ulrich ABSENT: Bill Miller, Nikki Stoll Olthoff, Andrew Smith STAFF: Alexa Naudziunas, Associate Planner 1) Call to Order Ms. Brabender Mattox called the meeting to order at 3pm. 2) Approval of February 9th 2022 Meeting Minutes Ms. Feld made a motion to approve the February 9th 2022 minutes and Mr. Cummings seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. 3) Building Permit Review The commissioners discussed the historic building permits. 4) Historic Plaque Program – Application Review – 1641 Jackson Street The commission reviewed the application materials. The commission would like to invite the applicant to attend the April meeting to discuss further. 5) Acanthus Award Nominations Ms. Brabender-Mattox explained that the awards are presented in City Council for Historic Preservation Month in May. During this meeting the committee accepts nominations and then at the April meeting, the commission votes on which nominee will receive the award. The following project were nominated:  Waite Rug – from last year  Preservation activities – Oshkosh History Postcard Series 2021  Adaptive reuse – Gibson Building  907 Washington Avenue – Terry Leib  Retention 101 W 10th Avenue – Church 6) Commissioner Statements a. Local Landmarking – Mr. Ulrich stated that he believes his effort can be better spent on other projects and this item will be delayed or not pursued. b. Herald Article – Mr. Ulrich stated that he has received positive reviews on the first article. Mr. Cummings is schedule to write the next article. 7) Agenda Items for Next Meeting a. Motion carried unanimously at 4:28 pm.
