HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-18-21 MINUTESBICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES – November 18, 2021 1. Call to Order Mr. BellCorelli called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m. 2. Approval of October 21, 2021 Meeting Minutes Mr. Brown moved to approve October 21, 2021 meeting minutes and Ms. Redlin seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. 3. CIP Recommendation – South Main Street re-design (South Park to Waukau) Mr. Collins introduce the item explaining that he received a request to improve the roadway through a re-configuration in this section by a resident. Staff is requesting the committee to make a recommendation for the use of fund to conduct a traffic analysis study. Mr. Gierach helped explain the potential design that the roadway could accommodate, it would need to be studied closer. Ms. Redlin made a motion to use funds on this project and Mr. Brown seconded the motion, motion carried unanimously. Mr. Collins explained that he will look into the process to get move this project forward. 4. Five Bridges Trail Ms. Naudziunas explained that she would like to discuss the individual sub-sections of the overall route. Each section would be in between each bridge, there will be a total of 4 sub- sections. The group wants to identify trailheads, distances, and names for each sub-section. Mr. Brown explained that the “start” should be at the new Lakeshore Park since there is parking and access to the highway. The group agreed to have a mapping session to help visualize each section. 5. Miscellaneous Discussion Items Ms. Stam explained that she has noticed other trails in the region that have donation boxes and wonders if there is a need for this within the city. Ms. Naudziunas explained that could talk to other departments to see if this topic has ever been discussed. 6. Agenda Items for the Future Meeting(s) The committee requests to keep an on-going list of potential agenda items to help keep track of ideas, this list will be found on each agenda. 7. Adjournment Mr. Ruark moved to adjourn the meeting and Ms. Redlin seconded the motion.
