HomeMy WebLinkAbout05. 22-02JANUARY 11, 2022 22-02 RESOLUTION (CARRIED___7-0_____LOST________LAID OVER________WITHDRAWN________) PURPOSE: APPROVE AMENDMENT TO PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH PROFESSIONAL SERVICE INDUSTRIES, INC. FOR CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS TESTING FOR THE 2021 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM ($12,094.00) INITIATED BY: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS WHEREAS, the City and Professional Service Industries (PSI) previously entered into a professional services agreement for construction materials testing; and WHEREAS, additional services are required to complete testing for one of the CIP projects and it is most advantageous for the City to add the additional testing to the existing contract with PSI. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the proper City officials are authorized and directed pursuant to Section 12-16 of the Municipal Code to enter into an amended agreement with PSI and said City officials are authorized and directed to take those steps necessary to implement the terms and conditions of the final agreement. (PSI) for Construction Materials Testing for the 2021 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) ($12,094) BACKGROUND A Professional Engineering Services Agreement for construction materials testing services for the 2021 CIP with PSI was awarded by the Common Council on March 9, 2021. Additional services are required to complete the testing for one (1) CIP project. ANALYSIS The amendment includes performing additional testing at a single site. Additional testing was required to complete the construction of the Oregon Street sanitary interceptor sewer. FISCAL IMPACT Staff has reviewed the amendment and the costs. The amount of this amendment is not to exceed $12,094. This will raise the total agreement amount to $99,619. These costs will be charged against the Sanitary Sewer section of the 2021 CIP. Funding is available in this account (Account #03210410-6802-04103/Contract Control-Sanitary Sewer-21-03 Oregon Intr Fond du Lac SS). RECOMMENDATIONS Chapter 12 of the Municipal Code of the City of Oshkosh provides that professional services of a specialized nature, including engineering services, may be procured without the use of formal, sealed quotes. In accordance with Section 12-16 of the Municipal Code, I am hereby recommending the Common Council approve this professional services amendment. Approved: Mark A. Rohloff City Manager JLG/tlt
