TO: Advisory Park Board
FROM: Ray Maurer, Parks Director
DATE: November 3, 2021
RE: November 8, 2021 Meeting
1. Discuss and recommend 2022 Pollock Community Water Park fees
As part of the annual departmental review of fees, staff is recommending an increase
in fees for Pollock Community Water Park. Fees were reviewed by the Board in
2019 and the daily rates were raised for the first time since 2006 by $1.00 each.
Season pass fees were last adjusted in 2015 by $10.00 each. This proposed increase
in fees is necessary to help offset pool staffing costs to remain competitive with the
market.
We surveyed six (6) other area pools, reviewing information and comparing fees
from 2021. Please see the attached document for that information. Staff is
recommending a $0.50 increase to the daily fees, a $5 increase to season passes, and
a $1 increase to additional family members added above the initial four members for
family passes as illustrated below:

Based on a three year average of pool attendance (2018, 2019, 2021), the total
estimated increase in revenue would be approximately $25,000.
2. Discuss and recommend approval of the Pollock Community Water Park
Agreement between the City of Oshkosh and Oshkosh Area School District
The Board will review the proposed agreement between the City of Oshkosh and the
Oshkosh Area School District. The City and School District have had similar
agreements since the opening of the Pollock Community Water Park in 2006
whereby the Recreation Department provides lifeguard staffing which is reimbursed
by the city. The terms of this proposed agreement are the same as the most recent
agreement with a one year term. Parks Department staff recommends approval of
the agreement. The Advisory Park Board is being asked to recommend to the
Common Council approval of the agreement.
