HomeMy WebLinkAbout13. 21-507 SEPTEMBER 28, 2021 OCTOBER 12, 2021 21-485 21-507 ORDINANCE FIRST READING SECOND READING (CARRIED___6-0___ LOST_______ LAID OVER_______ WITHDRAWN_______) PURPOSE: AMEND PARKING REGULATIONS ON SOUTH MAIN STREET INITIATED BY: TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION: TRAFFIC AND PARKING ADVISORY BOARD - APPROVED A GENERAL ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OSHKOSH AMENDING SECTION 27A-11 PARKING REGULATIONS ON DESIGNATED STREETS AND ALLEYS WHEREAS, the City council directed staff to restripe South Main Street in conjunction with the Sawdust District Plan to allow for additional on street parking and make the corridor safer for pedestrians and bicyclists. NOW, THEREFORE, the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh do ordain as follows: SECTION 1. That Section 27A-11 pertaining to parking regulations on designated streets and alleys of the Oshkosh Municipal Code is hereby amended as follows: A-11 PARKING REGULATIONS ON DESIGNATED STREETS AND ALLEYS SOUTH MAIN STREET Remove Therefrom: No parking, both sides, from the Fox River to Fond du Lac Road. Add Thereto: No parking, both sides, from Fox River to W.9th Avenue No, parking, both sides from 11th Avenue to South Park Avenue from 1 hour before to 1 hour after Arena events. No Parking, both sides from South Park Avenue to Fond du Lac Road SEPTEMBER 28, 2021 OCTOBER 12, 2021 21-485 21-507 ORDINANCE FIRST READING SECOND READING CONT’D No parking, west side, from 10th Avenue to 84 feet north No parking, west side from 180 feet south of 11th Avenue to 144 feet north of 11th Avenue No Parking, west side from 170 feet north of South Park to Fond du Lac Road. SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, publication and placement of the appropriate signage. SECTION 3. Publication Notice. Please take notice that the City of Oshkosh enacted ordinance #21-507 on October 12, 2021, AMEND PARKING REGULATIONS ON SOUTH MAIN STREET (A GENERAL ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF OSHKOSH AMENDING SECTION 27A-11 PARKING REGULATIONS ON DESIGNATED STREETS AND ALLEYS). The ordinance updates street parking on South Main Street to provide for additional parking and to address concerns during and immediately after events at the Oshkosh Arena.
