TRAFFIC & PARKING ADVISORY BOARD
STAFF AGENDA ITEMS
Sept. 14, 2021
PUBLIC COMMENT
The Board has adopted a public participation policy which provides fifteen (15) minutes for
general public comment on a first-come-first-serve basis. Citizens must provide their name and
address and may speak on matters related to traffic issues within the authority of this Board.
States should be addressed to the Board members, not to staff or any other persons. Items that are
on the agenda should be addressed at that time the agenda is read and not during the period for
public comment. Statements are limited to three (3) minutes and citizens may only provide
comment one time, unless special permission is granted. Public comments received via email (or
mail) will be shared with the Board and become part of the minutes.
1. Introduction of Alternate Board Member – Mike Beardsley
2. Approval of MINUTES
OLD BUSINESS
3. Election of Meeting Chair & Vice-Chair Positions
NEW BUSINESS
4. Request to remove the left turn restriction from Jackson Street onto New York
Avenue during peak hours of 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Jackson Street has been reconfigured with left turn lanes at the intersection. The left
turn restriction was very successful but is no longer needed. There are now dedicated left
turn lanes and only one lane of traffic to cross.
I recommend approval.
5. Request to restrict left turns from northbound Jackson Street to westbound
Nevada Avenue. This is a staff request.
Restricting left turns at this location was part of the Jackson Street road reconfiguration
that was approved by Council and implemented. Due to the offset intersections at
Jackson and Nevada, allowing left turns would cause congestion at the intersection. The
no turn restriction was painted and signed as part of the project, we now need to
formerly get the restriction codified.
I recommend approval.

6. Request to update parking regulation on South Main Street
Remove: No parking, both sides, from the Fox River to Fond Du Lac Rd.
Add: No Parking, west side, from 10th Avenue to 84 feet north
Add: No Parking, west side from 180 feet south of 11th Avenue to 144 feet north of
11th Avenue.
Add: No Parking, west side from 170 feet north of South Park to Fond Du Lac Rd.
South Main Street was just re-striped per Council’s direction. The intention was to
add on street parking for current and future businesses. The Municipal Code
needs to be updated to match the current road layout.
I recommend approval.
