TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the Common Council

DATE: July 8, 2021
RE: Approve Street Right-of-Way Dedication Along the North Side of the 800 Block
of West Packer Avenue
BACKGROUND
The applicant requests the acceptance of street right-of-way along the north side of the 800 Block
of West Packer Avenue.
ANALYSIS
The City of Oshkosh is requesting a small right-of-way dedication to square off the western
section of West Packer Avenue. This is essentially a cleanup request as terminations of right-of-
way are typically squared off and not stepped as is the case of West Packer Avenue. The
dedication will also rectify the issue of public sidewalk and street being located on private
property. The proposed dedication will be 40 feet wide by 50 feet long and 2,000 square feet in
area. The dedication is included on a draft Certified Survey Map (CSM) under review by staff.
The owner of the property was contacted and is agreeable to dedicating the land to the public.
The CSM will be recorded at the Winnebago County Register of Deeds upon approval by staff
and the dedication will become official upon approval by the Common Council.
RECOMMENDATION
The Plan Commission recommended acceptance of the Street Right-of-Way Dedication on July
6, 2021. Please see the attached staff report and meeting minutes for more information.
Respectfully Submitted, Approved:
