Ms. Richey called the meeting to order at 8:01 a.m. B.) PRESENT: Sue Ashton; Julie Kiefer; Ron Duerkop; Judy Richey; Deb Allison-Aasby; Lindsay Temple; Heidi Basford-Kerkhof EXCUSED: Julie Maslowski ABSENT: Julie Davids STAFF: Jean Wollerman, Senior Services Manager; Bobbie Luft, Activities Coordinator; Anne Schaefer, Marketing Fund Development Coordinator C.) CITIZEN COMMENTS ON AGENDA ITEMS: None D.) PUBLIC COMMENT ONAGENDA ITEMS: None E.) APPROVAL OF MINUTES: March 2, 2021 minutes approved as written: Mrs. Allison-Aasby to approve the minutes as written; Mrs. Kiefer seconded; ALL IN FAVOR, Motion carried (6) to accept the minutes as written. F.) PRESENTATION: a. Larissa Grunwald, Disability Benefit Specialist, ADRC-presented on the new Aging and Disability Resource Center’s (ADRC) website. Ms. Grunwald stated she has been with the ADRC for three and half years (3.5) and with the County for nine and half years (9.5). Mrs. Ceman introduced Karenna; Karenna started with the ADRC March 29th and is ADRC Assistant for Adult Protective Service (APS) clients and provides them with resources. Ms. Grunwald shared the website page, www.co.winnebago.wi.us/adrc She explained the red tab, Age Friendly Community status and included the survey. Here is information regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and what the office is doing. Ms. Grunwald stated although some meetings are taking place in the office, it is best to call to make sure your contact is in the office. She stated Melissa Sells steered the committee that completed the websites updates, the committee consisted of four other members from various departments. The website can be read in several different languages, just select the language at the top right of the screen. She stated to use google chrome to access the website. Ms. Grunwald explained the contact information location is on the right side of the page, there are two locations, Oshkosh, the Main location and Neenah. She stated there is a Facebook link and encouraged all to like the page. Ms. Grunwald explained the main topics were listed on the left side of the screen. She went through four top topics: 1st Meeting the team; 2nd most important tab is-resource directory, in this tab you can search for all resources, adult resources and child resources; search by keyword, subject or service, select the cities to search in or you can type in keywords to search for specific word. She stated this website Ms. Grunwald stated if interested one can call the ADRC (877-886-2372) and request a catalog/catalos be sent to them, once a year they are updated. She explained while on this page you can search and print information from this page. The 3rd tab is event calendar, this has not only what the ADRC has going on, but also public events as well. 4th tab of importance is the resource library, this is where a person would find information on services. Mrs. Ceman explained under resource library tab a person can also find, how I can get reduced phone or internet services. She also mentioned that in the upper right hand corner there is a button for changing the text size. Mr. Duerkop questioned if the library and directory resource overlap with information; Ms. Grunwald replied, yes they do, she stated this helps to avoid missing information if under an incorrect tab. She explained the directory provides contact information and the library explains what the service are. Mr. Duerkop requested Ms. Grunwald to use the various searches to show how it can be done; Mr. Grunwald granted the request. Mrs. Ceman explained that use has expanded for the website, some changes were for outreach. She stated ADRC has received more emails with referrals and assured that this was a safe and confidential method. Ms. Grunwald stated the email link is on the right side of the page. Mrs. Ceman stated there is a group that works monthly on the newsletter, she stated the mail out a handful and email 300-400 to various entities. To receive a newsletter contact Mrs. Ceman or Ms. Grunwald. Ms. Richey thanked the ladies for the update on the website and stated it was greatly done. G.) OLD BUSINESS: NONE H.) NEW BUSINESS: a. Age Friendly Community Survey-Mrs. Ceman stated she has been working with the ADRC for approximately one and half years (1.5). She explained herself and Jean Wollerman have been collaborating research for a year and have sent an application to AARP to be part of the Age Friendly Community, have received support from the Mayor of Oshkosh and have been the 7th community added state wide. She stated she has been promoting since early 2021 and had an official press release March 19 and Facebook. Mrs. Ceman stated they have been working on a five year plan and the survey deadline will end on April 14th, she explained the survey will gain insight from citizens age 45 and older. She stated the link to the survey can be found on County website, ADRC and Seniors Center, she believes it can be found on the YMCA and Library pages as well. Mrs. Ashton questioned if a person needs a computer to fill out a survey; Mrs. Ceman replied, electronically is best but there are paper copies available. (See attached- Attachment A-Age Friendly Community Survey) b. Mr. Duerkop shared a document regarding April is National Healthcare Decisions Month. (See attachment B-April National Healthcare Decisions Month). Mr. Duerkop also shared Fox Valley Advance Care Planning Partnership regarding their four events in April pertaining to advanced care planning. Ms. Richey urged everyone to continually update your plan as life events occur and changes are made. Mr. Duerkop explained if there is not a directive in place, there would be a guardianship process and this could mean having a person not of your choice to make the decisions. He also stated the guardianship process is very expensive. I.) OTHER BUSINESS: a. Mrs. Allison-Aasby thanked members of the past and present, thanked the Council for their support for the budget for strategic planning. She stated she knew this would grow into educational and informative for the public. She stated the speakers had far exceeded expectation and thanks to City Staff, Ray Maurer, Jean Wollerman, Bobbie Luft and Anne Schaefer. She wished the committee the best of luck in the future. Ms. Richey and Mrs. Wollerman thanked Mrs. Allison-Aasby for all of her support. Ms. Richey urged Mrs. Allison-Aasby to apply and be a board member as a citizen. She stated there will be two openings for members as well as two alternate seats open. J.) ADJOURNMENT: Mrs. Allison-Aasby moved to adjourn at 9:01 am, Mr. Duerkop seconded, ALL IN FAVOR, Motion carried (6) to adjourn at 9:01 am.
