HomeMy WebLinkAbout12. 21-172APRIL 13, 2021 21-172 RESOLUTION THE STREET DIVISION ($79,611.21) INITIATED BY: PURCHASING DIVISION WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has heretofore advertised for bids for a new skid steer loader for the Street Division; and WHEREAS, upon the opening and tabulation of bids, the following is the only bid: BOBCAT PLUS 1408 S. Van Dyke Road Appleton, WI 54914 Total Bid with trade: $79,611.21 WHEREAS, this bid meets the minimum specifications and staff has reviewed the bid and recommends its acceptance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the said bid is hereby accepted and the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into an appropriate agreement for the purpose of same, all according to plans, specifications, and bid on file. Urben, General Services Manager DATE: April 5, 2021 RE: Award Bid to Bobcat Plus for Skid Steer Loader for the Street Division ($79,611.21) BACKGROUND The 2021 CIP allocated $80,000.00 for a new skid steer loader for the Street Division. The new unit will replace a 2005 Bobcat rubber tire skid steer with broom and router . This unit is used for road maintenance including paving and shouldering, to move and load material such as gravel and asphalt, and for snow removal in the winter. ANALYSIS Working with the Public Works Mechanics Manager, Purchasing prepared bid specifications for this unit. The bid was posted on DemandStar. Bids were due March 24, 2021. One bid was received. The bid tab is attached. Based on the bid review, it was the consensus of staff that the sole bid with trade met the minimum bid requirements and is competitive. FISCAL IMPACT With trade-in the total fiscal impact for this unit is $79,611.21. The 2021 CIP allocated $80,000.00 for this unit. This project will be charged to A/N# 03230430 7204 66110 (Machinery & Equipment- Skid Steer and Router).
