Library Board Minutes MINUTES OF THE LIBRARY BOARD Oshkosh Public Library December 17, 2020 The Regular Meeting of the Oshkosh Public Library Board of Trustees was held on December 17, 2020 via a Zoom meeting. The meeting was called to order at 4:02 p.m. by Board President, Christine Melms- Simon. Present were: Bill Bracken, Christine Melms-Simon, Lindsey Mugerauer, Baron Perlman, David Romond, David Rucker, Amber Shemanski, Julie Davids and Adjunct Board Member, Carrie Kiekhaefer. Absent were: Vickie Cartwright and Larry Lautenschlager. Others present were: Jeff Gilderson-Duwe, Oshkosh Public Library Director; Lisa Voss, Assistant Director for Library Development; Ruth Percey, Assistant Director for Public Services; Julie Schmude, Business Manager, Justine Elliott, Digital Service Librarian, Lynnsey Erickson, City Council member, Lori Palmeri, mayor for the City Oshkosh and Tracie Schlaak, Administrative Specialist. Public Comments: Lynnsey Erickson, city council member, talked about reopening the library for a couple of hours per day. Consent Agenda Items: • Meeting Minutes - of the November 19, 2020 regular meeting of the library board. • Vouchers Payable - $232,003.54 It was brought to the board’s attention that the vouchers payable needed to be amended. $327.84 was added for office supplies bringing total vouchers payable to $232,331.38. Motion to approve the Consent Agenda with the amended Vouchers Payable Motion: Perlman; Second: Bracken; Vote: Unanimous. Items Removed from Consent Agenda - there were none New Business: • Staff Guest: Justine Elliott, OPL’s full-time Digital Services Librarian as of September 27, 2020. Justine talked about her activities in the Information Services Department. • 2021 OPL Pay Plan. Motion: To implement the 2.5% across the board salary increase to achieve parity with Oshkosh City Employees. Motion: Perlman; Second: Romond; Vote: Unanimous • Proposed Phase One Re-opening Plan Amendment; AARP senior citizen tax preparation assistance in the Library. Motion to approve AARP to utilize the library for tax assistance preparation in the Library for senior citizens beginning in January, 2021. Motion: Bracken; Second: Rucker; Vote: Unanimous Future Agenda Items: • Consider how the library may respond to concerns expressed by council member Lynnsey Erickson regarding access to the library for people who have no permanent place of shelter.
