HomeMy WebLinkAbout07. 21-04 JANUARY 12, 2021 21-04 RESOLUTION (CARRIED 7-0 LOST LAID OVER WITHDRAWN ) PURPOSE: AWARD BID TO MACCO'S COMMERCIAL INTERIORS FOR FLOORING IMPROVEMENTS FOR SAFETY BUILDING RENOVATION FOR POLICE DEPARTMENT ($37,687.00) INITIATED BY: PURCHASING DIVISION WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has heretofore advertised for bids for flooring improvements that are necessary for the renovations of the former Winnebago County Court offices within the Safety Building for the Police Department; and WHEREAS,upon the opening and tabulation of bids, it appears that the following is the most advantageous bid: MACCO'S COMMERCIAL INTERIORS 680 S. Westland Drive Appleton, WI 54914 Total Bid: $37,687.00 WHEREAS, this bid meets the minimum specifications and staff has reviewed the bid and recommends its acceptance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the said bids are hereby accepted and the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into appropriate agreements for the purpose of same, all according to plans, specifications, and bids on file. Urben, General Services Manager DATE: December 30, 2020 RE: Award Bid to Macco's Commerical Interiors for Flooring Improvements for Safety Building Renovation for Police Department ($37,687.00) BACKGROUND The Common Council allocated $150,000.00 in the 2021 CIP for renovations of the former Winnebago County Court offices within the Safety Building for additional Police Department offices. The renovations will begin in January, 2021 are expected to be complete within six months. The renovations will include new electrical/data wiring, security upgrades, flooring, painting, ceiling tiles/grids, HVAC improvements and more. To minimize labor costs a good portion of the work will be performed internally by Facilities Maintenance, Electrical Division and Information Technology Division staff. Some of the work will be bid out to contractors. This memo is to award the bid for the flooring improvements necessary for this project. ANALYSIS Working in conjunction with Facilities Maintenance and Police Department personnel, Purchasing reviewed and prepared bid specifications for the flooring improvements for this project. This bid was advertised in the newspaper and posted on DemandStar. Bids were due December 22, 2020. The bid tab is attached. After reviewing the bids it is the consensus of staff that the low bid from Macco's Commercial Interiors met the minimum bid specifications for this project. FISCAL IMPACT The total fiscal impact of this bid is $37,687.00. The award of this bid will be charged to A/N#: 03230211- 7214-66133 (BUILDINGS). The balance of funds allocated to this project will be used for the remaining scopes of work necessary for the renovations.
