FOR A FORKLIFT FOR THE TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT ($32,022.00) INITIATED BY: PURCHASING DIVISION WHEREAS, the City of Oshkosh has heretofore advertised for bids for a forklift for the Transportation Department; and WHEREAS,upon the opening and tabulation of bids, it appears that the following is the most advantageous bid: WISCONSIN LIFT TRUCK CORP. 1776 W. Matthew Drive De Pere, WI 54115 Total Bid: $32,022.00 WHEREAS, this bid meets the minimum specifications and staff has reviewed the bid and recommends its acceptance. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the said bids are hereby accepted and the proper City officials are hereby authorized and directed to enter into appropriate agreements for the purpose of same, all according to plans, specifications, and bids on file. Urben, General Services Manager DATE: September 15, 2020 RE: Award Bid to Wisconsin Lift Truck Corp. for a Forklift for the Transportation Department ($32,022.00) BACKGROUND The preliminary 2021 CIP budget included a $34,000.00 request from the Transportation Department for a new forklift. The new unit would replace a 1985 era forklift that has reached the end of its service life. The new unit would come with current safety standards, updated emissions and a warranty. During the 2021 CIP discussions it was determined this unit would qualify for purchase with Federal Cares Act funding received by the Transportation Department. ANALYSIS Working with the Public Works Mechanics Manager, Purchasing prepared bid specifications for this unit. The bid was posted on Onvia DemandStar. Bids were due August 24, 2020. The bid tab is attached. Staff review confirmed the low bid met the minimum bid specifications. FISCAL IMPACT The Transit Department received $4,553,754 in Cares Act Funding for COVID-19 prevention, mitigation and recovery. The total fiscal impact for this unit is $32,022.00. These purchases were charged to A/N#: 0511-1728-6517-11108 GO Transit CARES Act expenditures. The remaining Cares Act funding will be used for a variety of project/items as outlined in the 2021 CIP.
