I have been on various boards and understand the importance and responsibility of being "engaged" in committee settings - not just being in attendance. I am also a business owner who understands both the business acumen and "soft skills" of a healthy organization. My two loves are seniors and books - both I feel would be tapped into on in this committee. To be totally transparent I am being considered to be on the board of the Committee of Aging. If I can only be on one board, I would choose the Committee on Aging, but would love to be on both. One of my primary goals would be to encourage all people of the Oshkosh community to engage with our local library, especially our seniors. I work closely with seniors who are either homebound or need assistance when going out into the community who benefit from our local library. I would love to be a "cheerleader" for the Oshkosh Public library via educating our community of all the resources the library has to offer. The digital and hands-on resources help people live a better quality of life by providing, socialization, brain stimulation, physical exercise resources, healthy nutrition resources which aligns with my values. To me the library helps us live a more purposeful and fun life.
