Oshkosh Healthy Neighborhoods engages neighborhood residents, empowers them to be leaders in
managing neighborhood issues, and encourages them to participate fully in determining the future of their
neighborhoods.
Our staff and volunteers work closely with resident leaders to:
✓ Sponsor community building events where residents can meet, have fun, and build trust and
social capital in the neighborhood.
✓ Sponsor special resident-led projects to improve physical conditions in the neighborhood.
✓ Provide technical assistance, tools, and resources to existing and emerging neighborhood
associations.
✓ Develop resident leadership education curriculum and sponsor workshops to expand the
leadership skills in our partner neighborhoods.
✓ Partner with residents, neighborhood groups, and community institutions to identify and
implement special neighborhood initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life in our neighborhoods.

Rock The Block Oshkosh Neighborhood
Revitalization in Congress Field Neighborhood
✓ Oshkosh Healthy Neighborhoods Community Outreach Coordinator in conjunction with the
Oshkosh Seniors Center started work on the new Connect through Technology program funded
through the Bader Foundation Grant. Began initial research on equipment and technology
options for seniors in the Oshkosh area.
✓ Developed a new Good Neighbor Grant program in partnership with the City of Oshkosh and
the Community Foundation over three years. We approved 20 applications ($15,000) from
homeowners for work being done to enhance the front facing side of their properties; the total
estimated value of the work being done is $102,988.
✓ Purchased and designed the Block Party Trailer that will be available for neighborhood block
parties in 2021.
✓ Revised the second Rock The Block Oshkosh to complete projects at 31 properties in the
Congress Field Neighborhood, and keep our volunteers and staff safe implementing
appropriate physical distancing requirements.
✓ Branding and logo development completed for the Fox Chase Neighborhood Association
✓ The Hey, Neighbor! Newsletter is distributed monthly via emails and social media; June’s topic
was inclusion and diversity in neighborhoods.
✓ Oshkosh Herald reported updates on Rock the Block Oshkosh and the Good Neighbor Grant.
✓ Our social media presence has continued to grow, highlighted by our LinkedIn engagement
improving by 106% in the second quarter.
✓ Transitioned to virtual Zoom meetings for the Oshkosh Healthy Neighborhoods Alliance
meetings and have averaged 13 neighborhoods represented (higher than in-person). Working to
develop two new neighborhood associations (paused due to limit on large gatherings).
✓ National/Neighborhood Night Out has been rescheduled to October 6, 2020 with hopes that
our neighborhood associations will be able to host an annual meeting and a social event.
✓ Ongoing rehabilitation of the real estate development at 83 & 87 Frankfort St with July, 2020
as the anticipated completion.
