a $250,000 grant from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation’s Community
Development Investment Grant program to support the redevelopment of the former Gibson

6. OPD ANNUAL AWARDS: The Oshkosh Police Department’s Annual Awards Ceremony
originally scheduled in May was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although we
were unable to come together to celebrate this year’s event, we felt it was extremely
important to honor those individuals who are committed to truly making a difference in the
Oshkosh community. In partnership with the City of Oshkosh Media Services, a virtual
Awards Ceremony was held on Thursday, August 6, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. This ceremony
recognized department employees and citizens for their exceptional performance and
outstanding achievements and service to the Oshkosh community during 2019.
We would like to express our appreciation to Oshkosh Media Services for making this year’s
event possible. We would also like to send a special thank you to our community partners
and sponsors who generously donate to the success of our ceremony each year!
The Awards Ceremony can be viewed on the Oshkosh Police Department’s Facebook page.

department’s Facebook Messenger, qualified for a prize. In addition, 5 Grand Prize Winners
were selected at random. Prizes were the choice of a basketball, football or soccer ball, a new
book and a bag full of coupons to local restaurants. Grand Prize winners could choose from

PAO/Crime Prevention Officer Kate Mann began delivering prizes to all the lucky winners
of the contest on Monday, July 27. Parents and children were excited and very appreciative
of the new project. The contest was another way to bring our community together with law
enforcement to build positive relationships for a better, safer Oshkosh.
OPD would like to express our sincere appreciation to the wonderful donors who made this
all possible: Walmart Oshkosh, Nolte’s Full Service Auto Repair & Towing, Reach A Child,
and Target Store Oshkosh!
