Rohloff, City Manager DATE: July 21, 2020 RE: Cooperative Purchase of Furniture for Oshkosh Seniors Center ($39,473.94) BACKGROUND The Oshkosh Seniors Center received a $152,000 Bader Grant, of which $40,000 was allocated to purchase furniture that will help create collaborative learning spaces to encourage tech -learning for their participants. The furniture will create learning spaces in the Center's great room that through physical design, will become a hub to encourage learning technology in small groups, one-on-one and self- directed learning. This furniture will include tables, desk chairs, lounge chairs, stools and other items that will be a visual and functional change at the Center designed to encourage participation. ANALYSIS Working with OSC Staff and our Staples representative, Purchasing was able to secure the furniture using cooperative purchasing pricing (Sourcewell) from Staples at a cost of $39,473.94. FISCAL IMPACT The fiscal impact of this purchasing using the Sourcewell cooperative purchasing contract is $39,473.94. This purchase will be charged to the Connecting through Tech for the Oshkosh Seniors Center Bader Grant (A/N#: 02310760 7202 11528). RECOMMENDATION Section 12-15 of the Municipal Code provides that subject to approval of the City Manager, cooperative purchases pursuant to a contract with any other local, state or federal governmental unit or agency may be made without following a competitive bidding or quotation process. In accordance with Section 12- 15 of the Municipal Code, I am hereby submitting a report of this purchase to the Common Council.
