HomeMy WebLinkAbout23. 20-249 JUNE 9, 2020 20-249 RESOLUTION (CARRIED 7-0 LOST LAID OVER WITHDRAWN ) PURPOSE: ACCEPT STREET, SIDEWALK, AND ELECTRIC EASEMENT AT 3680 NORTH MAIN STREET INITIATED BY: CITY OF OSHKOSH PLAN COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Approved BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the City hereby accepts a street, sidewalk, and electric easement at 3680 North Main Street, per the attached, and the proper City officials are authorized and directed to execute any and all documents necessary for purposes of same. TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the Common Council FROM: Mark Lyons Planning Service Manager DATE: June 4, 2020 RE: Accept Street, Sidewalk, and Electric Easement at 3680 North Main Street (Plan Commission Recommends Approval) BACKGROUND / ANALYSIS The subject site is located at the southwest edge of the parcel along W. Snell Road. The proposed easement is a small triangle -shaped area, 18.50' x 17.00' x 25.24' and 157.24 square feet in size, located at the northwest corner of the property. The City is reconstructing Snell Road and as part of that reconstruction, installing an ADA compliant public concrete sidewalk, street pavement, curb and underground conduit and wires in this location. The City may in the future install facilities such as traffic signals, an electric pull box and related equipment and facilities. This easement satisfies the needs for this parcel. The City will have continued rights to access the easement area to maintain the facilities. The City has been working with the property owner and the owner has agreed to grant the easement. The City Attorney's office has drafted the necessary easement documents. The Department of Public Works does not have concerns with the proposal and will work with the property owner to have the appropriate easement documents signed and recorded at the Winnebago County Register of Deeds upon Common Council approval. RECOMMENDATION The Plan Commission recommended approval of the acceptance of the proposed street, sidewalk, electric easement at its June 2, 2020 meeting. MAIN STREET Plan Commission meeting of June 2, 2020 GENERAL INFORMATION Applicant: City of Oshkosh Department of Public Works Owner: DFR Enterprises, L.L.C. Actions Requested: The City of Oshkosh is requesting acceptance of an easement to allow placement of an ADA compliant sidewalk, street pavement, curb and underground conduit and wires in the northwest corner of 3680 N. The following is the Plan Commission's discussion on this item.
