HomeMy WebLinkAbout18. 20-244 JUNE 9, 2020 20-244 RESOLUTION (CARRIED 7-0 LOST LAID OVER WITHDRAWN ) PURPOSE: ACCEPT STORM SEWER EASEMENT AT 101 WEST SNELL ROAD INITIATED BY: CITY OF OSHKOSH PLAN COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION: Approved BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Oshkosh that the City hereby accepts a storm sewer easement at 101 West Snell Road, per the attached, and the proper City officials are authorized and directed to execute any and all documents necessary for purposes of same. TO: Honorable Mayor and Members of the Common Council FROM: Mark Lyons Planning Service Manager DATE: June 4, 2020 RE: Accept Storm Sewer Easement at 101 West Snell Road (Plan Commission Recommends Approval) BACKGROUND / ANALYSIS The subject site is a 4.4 acre property located on the south side of W. Snell Road, east of Jackson Street. The property is developed with industrial buildings and paved parking/storage areas. The proposed easement is located at the northwest corner of the subject property and runs 10' along the W. Snell Road right-of-way and extends approximately 15.5' into the property. The purpose of the easement is to improve surface storm water drainage for the subject property and the reconstructed Snell Road by placing a storm sewer catch basin and underground storm sewer pipe on the subject property. The new storm water drainage facilities will improve the surface drainage on the subject property and help the City's overall storm water management system. The easement will allow the City to construct the structures and provide continued access for future maintenance and replacements/upgrades as needed. The Department of Public Works and City Attorney's Office will work with the property owner to have appropriate easement documents signed and recorded at the Winnebago County Register of Deeds. RECOMMENDATION The Plan Commission recommended approval of the acceptance of the proposed storm sewer easement at its June 2, 2020 meeting. SNELL ROAD Plan Commission meeting of June 2, 2020 GENERAL INFORMATION Applicant: City of Oshkosh Owner: Bucdarmar, LLC. Action Requested: The City of Oshkosh is requesting acceptance of a storm sewer easement located at 101 W. Snell Road. The Plan Commission approved of the acceptance of the proposed storm sewer easement as requested. The following is the Plan Commission's discussion on this item.
